The 1st Asian Superconductivity Summer School 2016 (AS3 2016)

   It is our pleasure to announce the 1st Asian Superconductivity Summer School (AS3 2016) which will be held between Aug. 24 and 26 this year at Jeju National University, Jeju island, Korea. Following up the success of Japan-Korea Superconductivity Summer School last year (JKSSS 2015), the summer school has been extended to Asia including organizing members from China. The summer school is organized by the Korea Institute of Applied Superconductivity and Cryogenics (KIASC) in collaboration with the Cryogenics and Superconductivity Society of Japan (CSSJ), and supported by KEPCO and the IEEE Council on Superconductivity (CSC). Purpose of this summer school is to educate students and young researchers, and enhance mutual exchange among Asian superconductivity community. The program is composed of 14 lectures and 3 special talks which will cover electromagnetic issue, superconducting materials processing, power applications and cryogenics in both fundamental and advanced topics. All the lecturers are selected from well-known researchers in these fields. An interchange session to introduce attendee's research activities and an excursion to the Jeju Superconductivity Center by KEPCO, which is known as one of the most advanced test site for superconducting AC and DC power cables, are also scheduled. Graduate course students and young researchers in the superconductivity and/or cryogenics area are very much welcomed. It would be also a very good opportunity for regular members to form an international network among Asia. Those who are interested in the attendance, please send us the registration form attached in our web-site. Note that we may close applications if the registration reaches 100 to keep in-depth discussion in the lectures.

   We are looking forward to seeing you at Jeju, this summer.

Best regards,
@International Organizing Committee
